This workshop is a compilation of 4-5 separate workshops we used to do at Job Link–condensed into a two-hour presentation that covers the most important aspects of finding a job. The information ranges from somewhat basic to fairly advanced so we can reach the largest variety of jobseekers, offering “something for everyone.”

Starting with the basics, we will emphasize establishing a realistic goal: determining skills/interests, and then researching industries and companies rather than simply “looking for a job.”

Next we’ll spend some time going over the resume and cover letter—with an emphasis more on skills than duties—and talk about the hybrid resume as the best way to update and convey skills the employer is looking for.

We will then talk about networking: connecting with people who can help in your job search through various methods (in person and online/social media) with a detailed discussion about informational interviews…all leading up to Job Interview strategies, which we go over in detail. The presentation includes a number of handouts as well as some interactive exercises to engage people and help make the process more personal”.

Designed as an Advanced workshop – learn how to write a Professional Resume using a Combination format. Integrate Accomplishment Statements to make your resume stand out. Attendees will receive a resume template after attending.
